Still in Singapore

I'm still in the airport (it is SO HARD to stop myself from writing "aeroport"), taking advantage of the free internet access. We checked out for about half an hour to just wander round, and man is it hot outside. It's not even sunny, just humid, I love it :) After wandering around the airport for a bit something has caught my attention; it would be pretty hard to not notice it... There is a large number of armed guards wandering around, not just with pistols, but with what look like machine guns. Now this would be absolutely fine, I'm very happy with the level of security here, if it weren't for the fact that these guards look about my age. That seems a bit odd to me. I wouldn't trust anyone I know with a gun! But aaanyway, I'm really just killing time until my next flight, which I can check in for in about an hour and a half.

What I've seen of Singapore (and that is very little) has really impressed me, I'm sad I can't see more. We tried to get onto a tour bus for an hour but we couldn't guarantee that we'd arrive back in time what with traffic and all that. It's so clean and green and really quite beautiful. Looking out at the trees beyond the runway now.

I don't know when I'll next be able to get online, seeing as I doubt there's free internet access in our hotel in Langkawi, but if I can't get to a computer I'll handwrite some stuff and write it up on my way to NZ, when we spend the night in the airport.
