In Langkawi

Ok, there's only a couple of minutes until the place I'm in shuts, so I'll try to make this quick. I'm in Langkawi and it's the most beautiful place I've ever been in. Today I've seen two species of monkey, some hornbills, some bats and so many other species of animal that I've never seen before. I'm being constantly deafened by the cicadas and we're right on the sea so we can always hear the crashing of the surf. It's so fantastic to finally see the rainforest, we're going to properly go into it tomorrow. I've learnt the the trees with fronds shaped like the palm of a hand is called a traveller's palm as you can cut the trunk and drink from the rancid-tasting, yet safe water, and that the wildlife here's biggest threat is the cat population.
Arhghahr there was so much I wanted to write but my mum got off the computer literally 2 minutes before this place closes so I have no idea how long they're going to let me stay now sdjghdf
ANYWAY I've swum in the pool and the sea, although I've been a bit cautious due to the BEWARE OF JELLYFISH sign. The pontoon is made of floating plastic, so every wave makes it ripple like a snake. My mum got up this morning to find a monkey on our balcony taking our stuff. When she walked towards it to warn it away from a can so that it wouldn't get hurt (her fault for leaving a can outside, she KNOWS there are monkeys about!) it actually shouted at her, to keep her in her place! The monkeys here are great. They sit at the top of the trees ripping the leaves off.

We keep getting stuck in squalls, the weather changes second by second. It'll go from sunny to torrential rain before you know it, but no one cares because it's always so hot. I can't describe how fantastic it is, and I don't know when I'll be able to get on again, hopefully tomorrow but I'm not sure.
